Travel

If your young person is travelling to college on public transport, they can reach us easily via local bus services, or metro. The number 26/36 Go North East buses runs from Jarrow Bus Station (easily accessed from Jarrow Metro) and stops just outside of The Eco Centre on Blackett Street. Alternatively the number 27 Go North East bus stops on Byron Avenue/ Hedgeley Road, Hebburn, which is about a 10 minute walk away.

For Animal Care sessions based at Jarrow Hall the number 27 Go North East bus stops nearby on Church Bank.

Your young person may qualify for an Concessionary Travel Pass from your local authority that will grant free or subsidised travel. This will be useful for travelling to and from college, but also for educational trips or visits as part of enrichment. Please see guidance on how to apply here.

If you feel like your young person could benefit from some additional support in accessing public transport independently, your local authority may provide a travel training scheme that you can access. Find out more here.

If your young person has previously travelled to school/ college via SEN transport, you must contact your local authority to confirm arrangements for travelling to Route2Work.
